The Chelsea Ankle Strap Pump is presented in contrasting suede and mirrored metallic leather. The first shoe designed in the collection, the Chelsea Strap Sandal takes inspiration from a women’s slotted leather fisherman sandal by Cole Haan from the mid 1990s—a personal favorite of both Brill and Kim. Presented in Italian suede, two versions utilize multi-color strapping across the forefoot—one combining rich purple with bright orange, blue and green, and the other featuring light greys with burgundy and navy. Two additional versions are offered in solid royal green, and deep burgundy.

On Friday, July 13th, the highly anticipated Cole Haan & Fragment Design LunarGrand collaboration will launch first at Cole Haan SoHo and select leading retailers globally soon after. Comprised of three LunarGrand Wingtips and one LunarGrand Chukka, the Cole Haan & Fragment Design collection explores formal, traditional dress shoe materials offset against the modern, innovative silhouette of the iconic Cole Haan LunarGrand.

The Cole Haan & Fragment Design LunarGrand Chukka is constructed from traditional Scotch grain leather with a crisp pebble grain texture. Cole Haan celebrates Independence Day this summer by releasing red, white and blue versions of the LunarGrand Wingtip and Harrison Oxford.

Engineered to conquer the streets, the LunarGrand Wingtip is a conceptual clash of past meets future—the unique and seamless fusion of timeless design and modern innovation. The 4th of July LunarGrand Wingtips’ individual upper components are comprised of smooth nubuck colored in red, white and blue. The upper, which also features navy blue laces, is joined to the white rubber sole by a natural leather welt detail with white stitch.

On November 17th, Cole Haan released a series of classic footwear silhouettes constructed with reflective uppers and available only at Cole Haan SoHo.

This exclusive series of our classic men’s and women’s styles has been re-imagined with the deployment of a special reflective film applied to the upper’s surface. Covered in microscopic glass beads, the material reflects light, giving the surface visual depth and unique texture. Two color choices are offered: silver and black.

Women’s

The women's reflective wingtip and penny loafer embody the quality craftsmanship and classic style that is uniquely Cole Haan. The Maliya Wingtip features a leather welt construction, while the Air Penny Moc is designed with a hand-stitched moccasin construction. Both styles are leather-lined with a hand-stained full leather outsole and heel. The reflective upper adds a distinctive flash to any woman’s wardrobe.

The Jayhawker Wingtip is distinguished by an oversized storm welt, heavy stitching and thick leather outsole. A Goodyear leather welt construction enhances the shoe’s overall resilience and durability. The upper features a toe medallion brogue detail inspired by the Trafton, Cole Haan'siconic wingtip named after the brand's co-founder, Trafton Cole. The Monroe Penny Loafer is characterized by a genuine hand-sewn moccasin construction. Fully leather-lined, the shoe is designed with rubber nubs on the outsole to elevate traction and comfort.

Cole Haan Tri-Material Jayhawker Wingtip

On Thursday, November 10th, Cole Haan released seven tri-material variations of its Fall '11 men’s Jayhawker Wingtip.

Available in neutral colors such as tobacco, grey and black along with bold alternatives of amazon green, chili pepper and peacoat blue, these special edition styles will be exclusively available at the Cole Haan store in SoHo, NYC.

In addition to the release of the tri-material Jayhawker, Cole Haan will introduce a collection of Air Monroe Penny Loafers in hand-painted leathers, as well as the Henrik Boot, which features a mix of suede and calf leather. Both the Air Monroe Penny and the Henrik Boot will be available in the same color offerings as the Jayhawker Wingtip.

On Tuesday, September 13th, 2011, Cole Haan and New York–based music sensation Theophilus London released the limited edition Cole Haan Theophilus Blue Suede Buck exclusively at the Cole Haan store in SoHo.

Combining Cole Haan’s tradition of craftsmanship and innovation with Theophilus’ personal inspirations and unique style, the highly anticipated collaboration included a 10” vinyl cover version of Nat King Cole’s classic "Calypso Blues," performed by the artist.

“Theophilus embodies individual American style. He’s part of a new generation that understands iconic classics from a modern perspective,” said Cole Haan VP of Design, Phil Russo. “For over a century we’ve challenged ourselves to disrupt, evolve and redefine tradition. Partnerships with creatives, like Theophilus, further inspire us.”

The collaboration began as a conversation between Theophilus and Phil Russo while shooting the brand’s Spring 2011 campaign, in which he was featured. Theophilus recalls, “We were talking about Cole Haan’s history and tradition, then came the idea to create a special version of a Cole Haan classic. On my second tour for "A Mixtape," I fell in love with the buck, so I suggested we work on one together. This was my first time working on a product collaboration and it was very exciting.”

Theophilus’ on-stage performances and demanding international travel required the shoes to both perform and look good from morning to night, New York to Paris to Los Angeles, and back. “I wanted to create a shoe that I could always wear - a shoe that was an all-rounder.” Often contrasting qualities of style and performance became a focus of the creative process. “These are the challenges that drive our brand,” said Russo. “Style and performance brought together through craftsmanship and innovation.”

The result is a shoe that embraces tradition in the spirit of tomorrow. Rich navy uppers are crafted of the finest nubuck suede from American cowhides, allowing for high color saturation, and offset against a bright blue outsole which draws immediate attention, transforming traditional style with a modern twist. A natural cow leather skeleton lining offers structure with much-reduced bulk and weight while retaining form and structure, and a cow leather sock-lining with perforated details offers enhanced breathability. Together with a full-length flexible foam latex foot bed, the Cole Haan Theophilus Blue Suede Buck can be comfortably worn sockless from day to night.

The detailing mixes form and function, as sole and heel incorporate traditional cobblers techniques, but are paired with innovation and modern craft. The sole? It consists of lightweight EVA with laser-engraved siping, and employed to provide enhanced traction. The heel? Inside, there is Nike Air Technology for enhanced comfort and on the outside, a “Gentleman’s Corner” - a traditional cobbling technique where the corner of the inner heel-edge is shaved to prevent pant cuffs from catching on the heel.

Like the man himself, this Cole Haan & Theophilus London Blue Suede Buck doesn’t overlook subtle personal details. Refined signature gold embellishments include lace tips, eyelets and cobble nails, as well as an embossed gold Theophilus London signature in each heel bed.
