NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. (August 22, 2012) – Today, CONVERSE Inc. is proud to announce a twist on the successful Three Artists. One Song series with its very first collaboration featuring Converse employees. As part of the brand’s mission to help emerging artists unleash their creative spirit, Converse looked for the “art within” by asking artists who are also employed by Converse to submit their music.  Three emerging musicians - Julie G, McWolf, and Shane Willz - were selected and given the opportunity to have their voices heard. Together, the artists recorded the single and music video called “On The Go” which will be available to music fans via free download at www.converse.com/onthego on August 22, 2012.

“We’re continually blown away by the creativity that emerges when we bring artists together in this series,” said Geoff Cottrill, Converse Chief Marketing Officer. “We are particularly thrilled with this collaboration and are proud to provide an opportunity for three very talented Converse employees to have their music heard.”

Three Artists. One Song was created as an opportunity for three distinct artists to come together to create an original song made available for fans for free.  The series has most recently featured Mark Foster, rising star Kimbra and trendsetting DJ, A-Trak on the song “Warrior.”  Prior to that, Gorillaz, James Murphy and Andre 3000 came together on the original track titled “DoYaThing.” “On The Go” is the first track in the Three Artists. One Song series to feature three unknown artists. 

Converse employees and musicians, Julie G of Los Angeles, CA; McWolf of Allston, MA and Shane Willz of Santa Monica, CA recorded “On The Go” at Converse Rubber Tracks, the state-of-the-art Brooklyn studio, where they came together for the first time to write, rehearse and record the track.

ABOUT JULIE G
In 2007, Julie G got into electronic dance music scene and started to DJ on the side. From there, she started to produce her own music.  Julie truly believes in unleashing the creative spirit will change the world. Her style and creative spirit is authentic and people admire her passion. Julie G is currently a sales associate at the Converse Outlet Store in Cabazon, CA.

ABOUT MCWOLF
Originally born in upstate NY and now living in Allston, MA, McWolf began playing music in the 7th grade. He found a bass guitar that belonged to his older brother and just started to learn how to play from there. In addition to playing bass guitar, he also plays the keyboard.  When he’s not playing music, he enjoys skateboarding. He attended Berklee College of Music where he studied Singing and Songwriting. McWolf is currently a sales associate at the Converse Retail Store on Newbury Street in Boston, MA.

ABOUT SHANE WILLZ
Originally from Orange County CA, Shane Willz began playing instruments in the 3rd grade. Starting with guitar and eventually working his way into drums, piano and bass as he grew older. Shane was always inspired to do more and at the age of 17 began to truly develop his craft. Now he has become not only a talented artist, but a skilled producer and engineer as well. Now residing in Venice Beach CA, Shane enjoys skating, drawing and cooking when he's not making music. He is currently working on his upcoming mixtape and is currently a sales associate at the Converse Retail Store in Santa Monica.
