Nike today hosted the Polish National Team for a final good luck appearance at the Nike Football Stadium, a dedicated football zone for fans created as part of Nike’s My Time Is Now Campaign, in Warsaw’s Zlote Tarasy Mall. This will be the team’s final public appearance before 8 June.
With a full squad of 23 players, fans were treated to seeing their football heroes such as Jakub Błaszczykowski, the Polish captain, Robert Lewandowski and Wojciech Szczesny on stage and hearing about their preparations for the tournament.
In the audience were 26 young local finalists from The Chance, Nike’s global football talent search in which two Polish players will be chosen to travel to a global final to be held at FC Barcelona’s famed youth academy.
Błaszczykowski, who has been an active supporter of The Chance said: “Talent scouting programs like The Chance are a vital part of enabling the next generation of footballers to be better players. Playing for the national team was always a dream of mine and now that I’m about to play for my country I hope that inspires young footballers to reach for their potential.”
In February this year, Błaszczykowski encouraged football captains from Warsaw’s youth clubs to take part in The Chance by heading out to local pitches and presenting them with captain’s arm bands. As a return gesture of support, today the captain from the winning Polish Chance team presented Błaszczykowski with a white-and-red captain’s arm band containing the signatures of 24 players from The Chance winning teams.
In addition, all 23 PNT players received a customized N98 jacket with messages of support from young football fans printed on the inside. The messages are intended to inspire the national team while they stand on the pitch for the Polish national anthem. Two of the messages read: “Fight the battle with all your heart” and “Give us joy from playing with the eagle on your chest”.
The event was held at the Nike Football Stadium in the Zlote Tarasy mall. Open for the month of June, this interactive space is dedicated to anyone wanting to immerse themselves in the very best of Nike’s football products, innovations and stories, and participate in digital experiences to support players and teams.
Football fans will have the opportunity to engage in digital activations such as Szczesny’s Wall, a My Time Is Now photo booth and Nike’s live Football Stream. These interactive experiences are aimed at engaging, rewarding and heroing football fans by featuring them on an enormous 30-meter LED wall and allowing them to share content with their friends through social media.
The space also celebrates six Nike teams – Poland, Holland, France, Portugal, Croatia and Brazil - by showcasing performance and lifestyle apparel along with footwear. Consumers will be able to personalize their own team jerseys and football boots through a special customization service offered by the Nike store on the second floor of the Mall.

The “My Time is Now” film is part of a broader Nike Football brand campaign that features extensive digital and integrated experiences to immerse consumers in athlete insights about their hunger to succeed and inspire young athletes to be better footballers. To date, the “My Time is Now” film has more than 17 million You Tube views and is Nike’s fastest growing film of all time on the video sharing site. Igniting engagement through a series of “hidden tunnels” viewers can experience content in a unique interactive way from Pep Guardiola’s tour of FC Barcelona’s famed academy, to a sharp hairdo of their football icons at Nike Barbershop.
About The Chance
The Chance is a global football talent search that gives young amateur footballers from around the world the chance to prove themselves on an elite stage and take their game to the highest level. Players from 55 countries around the world will take part in The Chance trials in 2012. The best 100 players from these trials, selected by Nike coaches, will then travel to a global final in Spain, held at FC Barcelona’s famed youth academy. The best 16 footballers from the global finals will be chosen by Nike to experience the ultimate training tour as their reward; facing some of the most renowned academy teams in world football, including Manchester United, Juventus and a U.S. Youth National Team during a once-in-a-lifetime four week tour. From this group of 16 players, four players will be selected to train and play with the Nike Academy, now in its second year in partnership with the Premier League, based in the United Kingdom. This will form the last leg of the tour.
