More than 6,000 runners ran the two editions of the We Run Rome races led by world-class athletes Andrea Lalli (first edition winner), Daniele Meucci, Ruggero Pertile, Rui Silva, Nadia Ejjafini, Giulia Martinelli, Emebt Bedada and Tetyana Holouchenko.
The races spanned ten kilometers through the most famous and spectacular sights of Rome: from Terme di Caracalla to Piazza del Colosseo, passing by Piazza della Bocca della Verità, Piazza del Popolo, Via del Corso, Via Vittorio Vittorio, Piazza del Quirinale, Via dei Fori Imperiali and Piazza del Colosseo.
To keep the runners motivated and help them achieve their goals, Nike challenged the NIKE+ community with different missions, including one between two star footballers, Pablo Osvaldo (AS ROMA) and Antonio Candreva (SS LAZIO). In this face-off, the NIKE+ community was challenged to support their own hero’s goals: running faster for Osvaldo (#runfaster #osvaldo #werunrome) or running longer for Candreva (#runfurther #candreva #werunrome).
The NIKE+ challenge continued on race day, with the We Will #Makeitcount campaign. All the participants made goals for the new year in the NIKE+ area set in the Village at Terme di Caracalla. Photos and pledges were uploaded on the Nike Running Italia Facebook pages right after the race.
NIKE+ will continue motivating runners even after the finish line via the Nike+ Running App. This app allows runners to track, measure, compare and share their runs across the globe.
